  • 何これ かっこよすぎ・・・・

  • This seriously cool techno tune was performed in 1980.I remember there were still full of crap disposable happy and cheerful disco music in the chart and most people still hated the sounds of synthesizers but these guys didn't seem to care at all as they knew what they were doing and what everyone would be listening in years to come. This is one of thier KraftWerk killer tune, brill live version and absolute classic!.

  • @Jagged85 ...I agree.

I would describe "Trans-Europe Express" (1977) as one of the first proto-electro tracks, while "Riot in Lagos" (1980) is one of the first true electro-funk tracks.

One way of putting it is that "Riot in Lagos" was like the final destination of the direction that "Trans-Europe Express" was heading towards.

  • @Jagged85 I agree it does pre date Kraftwerk's numbers but don't forget about Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk in 1977, It's a slower tempo but is originally the creation of Electro-Funk music

  • Ryuichi had swag

I'm referring specifically to the "electro" genre (also known as "electro-funk"), not electronic music in general. The first true electro-funk track was "Riot in Lagos" (1980) by Sakamoto/YMO, which pre-dated Kraftwerk's first electro-funk track "Numbers" (1981).

  • シンセ複数にギターとドラム まさにオーケストラ

  • いまだにこの時の演奏を超えるRIOT IN LAGOSは聴いたことない。

    手弾きをするしかない状況がこの緊張感溢れる演奏を生んだ。

  • lol these guys. i wonder what devo thought.

  • On a side note, this was also the first live performance to use the Roland TR-808, one of the first and the most widely used programmable drum machine of all time.
