Nick's POV
"Those sandwiches were amazing." Lily gushes, taking the last sip of her iced tea as well all sit in the catering room. I don't eat, I'm sort of on edge knowing the Blair left Mick with Declan alone. I lean over Mick's empty seat and whisper to Lily, "Shouldn't Mick have been back by now?" Her blue-grey eyes cloud over in thought. "Yeah, she should have." "Is everything okay?" Joe joins in quietly, leaning over Lily to our little huddle. "Why are we whispering? Is something wrong?" he asks. "What if something happened to her?" I ask frantically, my imagination getting away from me. "Nick, she was just with Blair a little while ago. She should be fine." Joe says. I don't relax at all. "I'll call her to see what's up. Maybe she's not feeling well." Lily tries. I can tell she doesn't believe what she's saying either. She pulls her cell phone from the table and dials Mick's number. I can hear it ringing. It rings several times before it goes to voicemail. As soon as I hear her voicemail pick up, I jump out of my seat and slide my chair in frantically. She's not answering, so something must be wrong. "Where're you going?" I hear Kevin ask from the table but I ignore him and jog towards the door. I feel the anxiety coming on. I cringe at the thought of someone hurting Mick. It makes me physically ill to think about it. I enter the near empty hallway and start to walk towards the outside door. "Nick!" Lily's voice trills from behind me. "I'm coming with you." she announces. The door open once more and Joe is running towards us full speed. "I'm coming too." I ignore him and the three of us continue to walk towards the door that leads outside. "Here." Lily calls, gesturing my brother and I over to the door at the end of the hall. "Where could they have gone?" Joe asks, his voice on an uncharacteristic edge. "I don't know." Lily says, her face stricken with concern. I continue to walk quickly, towards the concession stands, the bathrooms. The only places I can think they might be. We round the corner to the bathrooms and there's a shadow that flickers against the sunlit wall. The entire bathroom is at a silencing standstill until a familiar wince sounds from one of the stalls. There's another wince. Then a sniffle. After that, a couple choked sobs. My heart rate quickens. I bend to search for feet under each stall. I come all the way to the very last one and then I see it. Joe knows that I've found her because he rushes over and pushes the door to the stall open. There she is, sitting on the ground with her knees to her chest, tears rolling down her cheeks. There's a small amount of blood dripping from her chin. When I see who's sitting nearly on top of her, my hands tremble with fury. Before I can stop myself, I start to lunge for Declan who's hands are roaming all over Mick's torso. Mick's petrified eyes meet mine and her mouth falls open. She's going to scream. I press my finger to my lips, shushing her. She presses her lips closed again and I breathe a sigh of relief before fully lunging for Declan. "Nick!" Lily shrieks after me but I don't listen. Declan's head whirls around and his lustful eyes meet my enraged ones. I draw my fist back and before I can let it make contact with his jaw, from the corner of my eye I see Mick sitting down on the ground, looking terrified. "Come on, Mick." Joe orders and helps her up off the ground, picking up her sweatshirt too. I don't know what happens after that. I'm too busy ambushing Declan's face with my fists. One of my knees is on his chest, crushing his lungs. But I don't care. He jabs back at me a couple of times, but it doesn't hurt, he only takes one really hard punch against my jaw. It throbs but I can barely feel it with how angry I am. I can feel my face reddening and I hear Joe on his phone saying something to a security guard. Lily grabs me and holds me back my shoulders and I look up at her. Her blue eyes are ablaze with anger. "Stop it! Nick, you're scaring her." she yells at me and I look over to Mick who's standing by the far wall, her eyes wide and her lips trembling. I stand up off of Declan who looks infuriated. I go to her and before I can apologize for the way I acted, she pulls me into her by my side and buries her face in my shoulder. I pat her back and smooth down her messy hair, trying to calm her. It works some because her shoulders stop shaking, but she's still crying. "Hey, hey." I quiet her, pressing my body into hers. "It's okay. I'm here now. You're with me. It's all going to be okay." I attempt soothing her but there's no way I can even try to make my voice sound comforting to even me. I'm too angry. I continue to hug her close to me and rub her back. She hugs me back with all her might and her fingers dig into my shoulders as she continues to cry. "Shhh," I whisper and brush her tears away with my thumb. "I'm here, it's okay."
