STUDS Promo

Remember the show STUDS back in the early 90's? Well this spot was produced to promote the show before the show ever aired. The spot didn't make it to air but the show premiered in LA and some other select markets on March 11, 1991. It went on to become quite a hit and created quite some controversy. Rumor has it Rupert Murdoch's wife saw the show and demanded it be take off the air. It was way before any of those other dating shows like Blind Date and 5th Wheel. Marc Decarlo was the host. He is a very funny talented guy.

this is just a guess, but i think that rupert murdoch's wife was probably 1 of those overly religious, overly sensitive people. (that might be y she wasn't a fan of it.)

Former $ale of the Century host Jim Perry once made an appearance (since, before becoming a GS host, Mark DeCarlo was a contestant on $otC and took them for over $115K in cash/prizes) attempting to get in on some of the action, only to be turned away by Mark...classic moment! :-)
