Richard Branson on Drug Decriminalization but says Skunk is more dangerous than Alcohol

Drug laws are to be changed in the U.K to target the ringleaders rather than small offenders, and Virgin's Sir Richard Branson has called for more research into substances rather than the ignorance that Government has towards the positive aspects and medicinal usage of drugs.

However, During this interview Sir Richard Branson brings up the propaganda surrounding Cannabis and states their are two types....''Marijuana which is less dangerous than alcohol and Skunk which is more dangerous than alcohol''

You would never be allowed to grow or sell it, holland are extremely strict and it takes alot to get a license to sell it in cafes.

Since the start of 2012 you need membership cards to get into the cafes to stop tourists from coming in.

Itself is less harmful than tobacco, alcohol but does that mean it should be legalized?

Its also been proven to lead onto other drugs as you spend more money for less of a high once you have been smoking for a while

@smudge13uk I heard that Skunk because it's rushed to grow has more THC which is the chemical that causes psychosis and the chemical CBD in cannabis balances out the effect of THC. I saw this on a program about cannabis years ago that it's lack of CBD that causes psychosis

There are between 18,000 and 30,000 alcohol related deaths every year in the UK (not to mention people who die or are seriously injured BY drunk people, i.e. Drink Driving, Assaults etc). I have a new level of respect for Mr Branson, but Skunk more dangerous than Alcohol... I highly doubt it...

not only would decriminalizing canabis bring in money from tax etc. but also it would have a tourism aspect, the amount of times you hear people here about going to amsterdam just because you can smoke freely is amazing and would bring alot of money.
