People ask me if I cheat at cards, but if you go to a casino, you can't cheat. They shuffle the cards. They do a riffle shuffle, which is the most fair way to shuffle the cards. Then they cut the cards. This changes the entire order of the deck. I was out the other night. I was with 4 girls. There were two redheads (this is where the actual story starts). I talked to them for 3 minutes and their two brunette friends showed up. I said my name's James with a J. They said "James, come with us to 673 King Street." I said "Is there a cover charge?" They said "Yes it's 25 dollars." "25 dollars?" "Yes 25 dollars." Just then my phone rang so I cut into my pocket. "Hello James speaking" My friend said "what are you doing tonight james?" I said "I'm with 4 girls, we're going to 700 something King street." The girls knew this was wrong so they said "No no no, its 673 King street." I went back to my phone and said "Sorry it's 673 King Street." My friend asked "Is there a cover charge?" I said "Yes, it's 25 dollars." He said "I only have 10" I told him he was lieing, and so he said "Ok I have 40, but that's all I have. Can I borrow some money?" I said ok, and he said "James... You're a good person." So we got to the casino and no one trusted me so I had someone cut the cards. Then I said I'll give them a full house, 4s over 8s. Then I said I'd give the next girl four 9s. I know you've all been looking for the aces, so I gave the next girl an 8 and all four aces. You reached in to take all the money and I said "What are you doing?!" You said "James, you can't beat 4 aces!" I said "one thing does, that's a straight flush, that's what I've got" and thats my story.

Do you think maybe james has some sort of mark on his what the hell card for him to know that he hasnt by mistaken cut the deck on that card.

@toerat09 It's very possible he does something like that. Its probably a good idea to do that if you're going to perform the trick.

Why are you revealing this trick? its not yours. you shouldn't go revealing one of the worlds best tricks without the magician's permission. Plus half of the stuff your saying is wrong. i used to do this trick just like you. He doesn't bend a card. And when he says 'i cut into my pocket' thats an actual cut. Almost everything your saying is wrong.

@boing844 First of all, this trick may not be mine, but it also isn't solely James Galea's. The trick is based off of a trick by Bill Malone called Sam the Bellhop. Second, this isn't the only tutorial on the internet, the secret has been out. Finally, bending the six is a simplified version of having the 6 trimmed. Many people don't like to ruin a card, and thus an entire deck, in order to perform a single trick.

You can also use a stripper deck and just flip around the one bottom card. This takes means there is a remote chance the audience participant will feel it on the last cut. but that's no more risky than a bent card. But it also means you can't flip packets through the trick like he does.
