  • i guess the idea of principals never entered into your equation. i'm not against people having the right to get an abortion. but at the same time i don't believe people should be forced to help fund that abortion if they are fundamentally opposed to it, because they believe it is murder. what next, should we force vegans to pay for a mcdonald's bailout, should that company ever "need" one?

  • @cristoballs

So what about 9 months down the line when she is ready to drop?. Surely people shouldn't be 'forced' to pay for the maternity and neo-natal care if they don't agree with it, or the resulting child's education?

Aren't we ALL constantly forced to fund things we don't agree with, isn't that the way government and tax works (or is your govt giving rebates to taxpayers who didn't agree with the Iraq war)?

  • oh c'mon... everybody know that most babies in the U.S. are not born on the street! They're born at senior prom in high school. C'mon, given us 'Mer'cans some credit

  • @cristoballs i mean, what's next? why not just allow the federal government to sterilize whoever they want? i'm sure they could reduce the financial burden drastically on both abortions and welfare, if we just give them the power to decide who can and cannot have babies. i don't really care to pay for such a program, but if it's the cheapest solution to our problems, why not?

  • @cristoballs my guess is, it's not possible for you to do so.

further, even from a pro-choice standpoint, i still don't think people should be forced to pay for other's mistakes. the fact that the federal government has extended its reach by fiat, in order to force people to pay for welfare programs, doesn't give it the right to force people to pay for abortions, just because it's the cheaper alternative. (cont.)

  • @noelplum99 that's because it's not a financial argument so much as you're making it out to be. those saying they shouldn't have to pay for someone else's mistake, aren't complaining because they think it'll cost them less. their arguments go back to their moral objection to abortion. consider the example i gave again. look at it from a purely financial standpoint. (cont.)

  • @cristoballs

Now yoou are altering the argument back to the old 'moral dilemma'. As I said in my video, I understood the viewpoint when it was on moral grounds (even though I disagreed with it) but as a financial argument it makes no sense.

  • @cristoballs (*50 dollars ever week for the rest of your life.)

however, what if they explained the intent of stealing your money? what if they said the one dollar would be used to pay for a bullet to kill someone, and that the 50 dollars is the amount of money needed to feed that person for a week. either way you're going to pay. does the fact that it's a considerably lower cost to you to kill someone than to feed that person still weigh as heavily in your decision-making?

  • @noelplum99 i'm not saying people won't be forced to pay one or the other. sadly, that's almost a given. what i'm saying is this issue comes down to a choice of what is the least worst. allow me to elaborate. let's say someone gave you a choice: they can either steal 1 dollar from you, or steal 50 dollars from you for the rest of your life, my guess is you'd probably choose have only 1 dollar stolen from you. (cont.)

  • I don;t know how to explain it but yes woman and babies are going to be on there own.Republicans and some Democrats want all social funding stopped. They call them entitlements but the people with money will get their "entitlements" with no taxes and all the things they get. America will become a land of 10% wealthy and the rest will have to manage. The Middle class experiment failed and it has been coming for years they just need to knock a few more Bills through.

    Bye Planned Parenthood
