The attract mode of one of the greatest SEGA racers, Daytona USA 2: Power Edition.

This game runs on the SEGA Model 3 hardware, Step 2.1, and it's the upgrade kit of Daytona USA 2: Battle On The Edge.

The game features a new design for the Beginner Course, the return of the Hornet Classic (the car of the original Daytona USA), and a brand new Challenge Course, which mixes the Advanced, Expert and Beginner Course in one single track, an updated AI for the opponent cars, and of course this intro.

NOTE: video taken from MAME version 0.119. This game has some graphic glitches and missing sound. I added the sound myself.

  • @sideswipe3511 it's in japanese because i still didn't know how to change the language when i made this video

  • @ItalianLightning03 thats cool bro but why is it in japanese

  • @ItalianLightning03 the usual thing is CPU+motherboard+RAM (because your DDR2 will probably not work on the newer boards with DDR3 slots). on my PC (Core i5 750 @ 2.73Ghz, 8gb DDR3-1600, eVGA Geforce GTX560Ti Superclocked) it seem to run fine with good framerate, sometimes it slow down, but i suspect emulation hiccups.

  • @RaptorZX3 the point of fact is, i HAVE supermodel emulator and i tell you, with my dual core processor it runs daytona usa 2 at about 30-35 fps; you like it or not, you need a good pc to run it smoothly, with a recent video card and a good amount of RAM (and btw, i suppose my processor is kinda obsolete at this time, i just have to buy a new one with a new motherboard)

you don't need a super-powerful PC, it's the MAME emulation that isn't improved and optimized enough. try the newest Supermodel emulator! Heck you can run Wii games fine on most average dual/quad cores with an average video card and 2-4gb of RAM, so Supermodel emulator doesn't require as much and have fine performances. Stop thinking you need a super-powerful computer for old games, it's a myth!
