Why did you cast a black person as a viking? Beowulf wasn't african descendent.

The black person your reffering to is my cousin

Glad to see the prejudice comments made. To think that most of the movies that whites played in, you came up with the idea. Perhaps the songs you sing, you all wrote and produced them. I think not. Its 2010 and most of your favorite athletes in NBA or NFL sport is black. So many whites, now a days, take from us. So one little poem that only the setting change will not hurt you. Be quiet and stop complaining. That is all you all ever do. Shut up!

You know i live in Götaland(Geatland) and we don't have any mountains, and almost no snow at all in the winter

It was done by volunteers for cancer charities. They're not claiming to be historically correct. And by the way, Beowulf is a Piece of Old English Literature written about Danes and Swedes not by them.

Good stuff.
There were no 'drastic changes' to the poem. In fact, members of the International Medieval Congress found BPOG to be the most accurate filmed version of the poem out there. As for you being able to do it all better, you are welcome to try. I'll buy a copy when you're done and compare.

Yeah, I know. Actually, the scenes in the mountains and snow are set in Denmark, not Geatland as the crew takes on Grendel and Mom, but point taken. We felt we needed to take some geographic liberties to add visual drama (and we just HAD to have a skiing sequence in the film since your ancestors invented it!).
Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the comment. Actually, none of us involved in the project ever thought of it as a 'fanfilm,' althought I am not sure how that is different from a non-fan film, so perhaps it is. As producer/director, I was trying to poem

Thank you for the positive comment. ) As producer/director I was trying to make an original, yet faithful interpretation of the poem . Shooting in six states and Norway with 500 cast/crewmembers wouldn't have been possible had we not decided to donate all of the profits to charity.
If you are in the area, check us out at Imagicon in Birmingham Alabama March 27-29. Sincerely, Scott Wegener
