A very young Fiorenza Cossotto sings the two Cherubino's arias "Non son piu cosa son, cosa faccio" and "Voi che sapete" from Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro). For me, she really sounds like a young boy, the interpretation is so colourful! The record is from 1961 with Carlo Maria Giulini conducting.

there are others i prefer more as cherubino, but she does rein in that formidable instrument very well here and i really like hearing the boyish side of cherubino for once. alot of singers cant muster that

I used to have this on a record years ago. Perfect singing, exciting interpretation-she really brings out the meaning of the words (as she does in everything). A great artist, right from the start.

Wow. She sings this so beautifully. Nice to hear the tenderness in her singing. I like her phrasing too.

I remember hearing this for the for the first time in the early sixties and being gob-smacked. Cossotto was what we had waited for. Love her in this recording - pity she was so competitive with sopranos - she had no need to be.

i don't think her acting got really goofy until she got a bit older :)
