I experienced this in the early 1990's on the John F. Kennedy for about a day or 2 straight. Lost some antennas and walkways on the side of the ship. It was real fun. My berthing area was right on the 03 right at the bow. Felt some g's everytime it went up and down.

My recruit school instructor educated us in nautical terms when I joined the Navy, Ive never forgotten it.....
When your ship is moving up and down, it is called pitching.
When your ship is moving side to side it is rolling.
What is it when you are pitching and rolling?
"Rough as guts!!" :-)

A 10 million dollar jet covered in salt water?? Your tax dollars at work?? I though my government handled their money poorly.
Awesome seas though!! 5/5!!
I was on a carrier for 5 years and saw weather like this on the deck FIRST HAND. 140 mph winds, 20f below 0, and waves coming over the bow. I was tied down, with a body harness. It was CRAZY. It was trully a painful experience, I will never forget.
