@guitar4art This is Baryshnikov's choreography, not Balanchine's.

This is Balanchine choreography because I was a young ballet dancer at that time and studied under him, George Skibine and Marjorie Tallchief. I was lucky enough to be on a ballet scholarship. Misha was one of his dancers and so was I. I really miss those days but I do enjoy my children and teaching ballet. I am a former ballerina that can play guitar and paint portraits by the way. One chapter has closed as another has opened .

I love the doll dances!!!!

Thanks for posting this. I love the dancing but can't fight the impression that the scenery would make an excellent, if slightly creepy, Tim Burton movie. Shame Johnny Depp can't dance :-).

@turimel No, Baryshnikov choreographed this himself. He did a really job though :)

Is this the Balanchine choreography?

Drosselmeier always struck me as a pedophile... still love the Nutcracker though

I LOVE THAT HARLEQUIN DOLL!!! i was so depressed to learn his dance is unique to this production!

I remember seeing this version in my middle school choir class. Good times, good times.

The choreography is riveting, some of the best I've ever seen.
Although, the honor for "World's Greatest" go to "Singin' In The Rain." Maybe the Russian could put dances together now. He's reportedly a great teacher of dance as well.
Thanks for putting this up, RoyalAlbert. You just became my personal hero.

Kirkland and Baryshnikov - they were our Fonteyn and Nureyev. Look at Gelsey - you simply can't take your eyes from her. She's completely magnetic.
