@TheArbitersBlade96 No, he payed 2 mana so it destroyed the permanents with a mana cost of 2. It isn't an "equal to OR LESS THAN" ability... only "equal to".

Protection from colors means he can't be targeted, blocked, or dealt any damage when he blocks by colored permanents. Day of Judgement dies not target, therefore etched champion is destroyed.

@Codereaper30 Actually, if a creature has protection from a color it can't be blocked by a creature of that color at all.
