2005 Honda Accord V6 5AT w/103k miles
This noise occurs when there is very little throttle input when cruising. When accelerating this noise is not present. Only when slight throttle is given to maintain speed on a flat surface and starts around 45mph and continues on up to interstate speeds, but definitely is related to the throttle position it seems.
Listen to the video through headphones and stop/start/stop/start the video about 10 seconds in and you can tell a high pitch noise is present. That is the noise and in the car it is quite audible when the radio is off.
I don't understand how it could be a pulley as it disappears with increased throttle position above ~10-12% (per UltraGauge). Also, when first starting the car and giving it the first throttle of the drive, some type of buzzing sound is present when the throttle is barely opened to start rolling. Anything above 10-15% when the car is first started and it goes away, but with slight throttle it is present until the car is warm.
Any ideas on the source are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
@ADSQ22 Well I ended up having the rear main seal replaced, as well as the timing belt and idler pulley service complete about 5k miles after this was taken. So my guess is it was the timing belt/idler pulley combo, because now there is no noise at all.
