Former Smashing Pumpkins stickman, now exploring new musical frontiers with Skysaw ( skysawmusic.com ), has joined the DW Family. Join Jimmy as he takes a few minutes to reflect on his experience at the DW Factory in Oxnard, CA and learn why he feels DW is a proper catalyst to his musical future. The kit he plays in this video is not his custom kit, but one of many he tried that day in search of his ideal custom drum look and sound.

The kit in this video is:
Vertical Zebra Exotic Candy Black Fade with Black Nickel Hardware.
18x23 (VLX), 9x10 (VLT), 10x12 (VLT), 14x14 (X), 16x16 (VLX), with 6.5x14 Straight VLT Snare.

All kit audio in this clip was recorded with the Zoom H4n handy recorder form about waist high and about 8 feet in front of the bass drum.

The kit Jimmy decided to order has a custom "prototype" Copper Lacquer Specialty with Chrome Hardware. Jimmy actually sent in a penny that we used as a color match. The Shells are a ply combination of VLT Maple and Mahogany with no reinforcement hoops. The kick drum hoops are Solid Black Lacquer.
Sizes: 5x8, 7x10, 8x13, 10x14 rack toms
14x14, 16x16 floor toms, and 16x22 kick, with a matching 5.5x14 snare and a stainless steel 6.5x14 snare.

  • Sound nicer than mine cause those are vlt I bought a used 1998 collector and It sound well on bass drum and snare but tom sound too high for me cause they seem to not be built in bottom... but the kit look very nice with gold (or brass???) hardware on... and the snare throw off doesnt low the chain enough :s... when i'll have cash i'll buy a new one but I cant afford them for now
