On this hunt, Tyge (Fulldraw) and I were sitting at a waterhole with our PH Eric of Limcroma Safaris when a group of Impala came in. While watching the young rams and ewes water we noticed movement in the brush behind the water. Eric caught the tips of a ram's horns and told me to get ready. When he came out of the brush, my heart was pounding! I thought he was going to stop short of the water, so I drew my bow. Just as the pin was settling on his shoulder, he stepped behind a young ram. I held at full draw and watched him for over 2 minutes while he watered and walked around to the other side of the water. I was more than ready to let the arrow when he suddenly jumped backwards from the water. I waited again and as he settled at the water for the final time I placed the pin on his shoulder and let it fly. The shot looked good, but I was concerned it might have been a bit forward. After watching him run away, I knew he wouldn't go far. 55yds later, my second African animal was down!

  • do they taste good

  • weeeeee i love hunting. small and large game. i love it for the fun and food. so tasty and organic.

  • Excellent work.

  • have u ever killed a dik dik or nyala

  • wow very big!good job!!!

  • I agree that was not a good shot , in Africa what ever animal you hit even if you do not retrieve it , you pay for so if he had hit the impala behind it he would have had to pay for two instead of one

  • not a good shot,

the arrow was a passthrough and there was another animal beyond the target. first rule of hunting. LOOK at whats beyond the game.

  • Likely because this guy has a well tuned bow and it was a complete passthrough. You should always get a passthrough on an animal of that size on a good shot.
