  • @blackonics Nope, To my Knowledge they always put the shuttles up on Booster Rockets. Except in the film Moonraker :) I was more curious if the Russians ever tried this test release with the Buran off the Back of the AN-225 but most people tell me no :(

  • @lst1195 Really? I thought attaching the shuttle to a plane and going up as high as th eplane could go and then letting the shuttle go into space was a real option. In fact, I thought this method had been used. You saying it hasn't? Please explain.

  • @megafaka Uh...it never went into space that way, they just released it & It glided down to the runway for landing tests. You might be thinking of the X-15 or something?
