My rant on the crappy low budget sewer sequel, Beware! The Blob(1972) starring Robert Walker Jr., Gwynne Gilford, Richard Stahl, Richard Webb, Shelley Berman, Carol Lynley, Dick Van Patten, and Burgess Meredith. Directed by Larry Hagman.

Trivia

In an interview in Fangoria magazine, screenwriter Anthony Harris stated that a good portion of the filmed material was improvised on the set and that the script was ignored.

The enormous success of The Blob led producer Jack H. Harris to try to do a sequel, but the project had been shelved for many years. Larry Hagman, who owned the beach house next door to Harris, mentioned that he had never seen the original The Blob. Harris showed Hagman his personal 16mm print of the film. Hagman showed such interest in doing a sequel that Harris resurrected the project. Hagman wound up directing this sequel and doing a small role in it as well.

The film Godfrey Cambridge is watching on his TV when attacked by the Blob is The Blob. The audio-only tracks are from the film within the film, Dementia, aka "Daughter of Horror", from which stock footage is used in the theater sequences in "The Blob".

Contemporary Christian music pioneers Randy Stonehill and Larry Norman have bit roles in the film. Norman included a cross necklace as part of his wardrobe.

The only feature film ever directed by actor Larry Hagman, whose only previous efforts in the director's chair were three episodes of I Dream of Jeannie.

This film was reissued in 1982 with a new tagline: "The film that J.R. shot!", as Larry Hagman had gone on to major latter success as J.R. Ewing in the TV series Dallas. (The tagline plays on the fact that J.R. was shot in a 1980 cliffhanger.)

UM hello??????? this movie was meant to be 'bad', tounge-in-cheek, low budget, using c-list has been TV actors. I don't know what you were expecting. Go watch Hostel, Saw, Scream or any of that shit. That's the shit you would probably think is brilliant.

On the contrary..I hate Hostel, and only find Saw moderately decent, Scream is a classic that redefined the horror genre when it came out..It is not a piece of shit. And it is quite brilliant. Go ahead and defend a bad movie because it is supposed to be bad..That is the lamest excuse for a crappy movie ever. Unless it is a parody that might apply..And I enjoy a lot of bad movies..One of my favorite films is Howard The Duck..This just was lame and boring.

what kind of pussy gets so butt hurt at a little criticism on what amounts to a review that sums up the movie as shit, fuck, etc...and then you think by recapping the movie with some more oh shit, fuck that you are funny? Wait until your nuts drop before you put anything else on line so you don't get your feelings hurt. Then look up the meaning of "camp" or cult classic. This is the first review of yours I have watched and you were having a bad day. I will check out another one.

My nuts have already dropped, I am 22 sir, and I understand it's camp..I like some campy movies (Howard The Duck, Return Of The Swamp Thing, Etc, Etc.) But this movie just sucks. What was I supposed to say? It failed in entertaining me? If you've seen some of my other Rants, I swear like a sailor, that's my style. And I have been on you tube for 5 long years, and doing reviews for 4, so I am entitled to talk back whenever I want.

The ice rink froze it rapidly because if you stop being a small minded person and stop trying to be scientific ( which i proved you werent earlier) then you would know that " it must be very sensitive to cold.

Come on in the original they freeze it with fire extinguishers ( which are not as cold as ice rinks) plus the ice rink was large and underneath most the blob.

By the way there is a reason to why it opens up like that, watch the original opening. Just keeping tradition. But yaeh acting was a little off. Oh by the way the way the blobs not psychic it warmed up by the window which the sun was shining through which warmed the container rapidly which caused it to expand( if you know your science, or did you fail at commonsense science) that what popped the lid of.
