Digital inking video.

Software used:
- Deleter ComicWorks in English.

Hardware:
- Dell Inspiron 1721
- Wacom Intuos3 (6"x11"

Music by: Pendulum (In Silico album)
Video edition: Windows Movie Maker

This is my first CamStudio video. I wanted to try this cool piece of software and see if I could try doing video tutorials like many people do in youtube. This isn't exactly a tutorial, I just recorded myself inking a random sketch. So, I hope you enjoy it!

PS. I plan to do another video with this inked drawing to show you how I screen tone it. Maybe I'll even do a colored version. Please comment! :)

  • @LaraYokoshima

Can i apply tones on comicwork like you do in your other video with adobe photoshop?

  • @SemmeCat Yes you can, in fact, ComicWorks comes with it's own tones library. The application is similar, you choose an area to tone, select the tone you want to apply, rotate/scale and then apply; the only thing I don't like is that CW selection tools aren't that friendly (just square or magic wand. No freehand/polygon). You can also "paint" simple tone patterns by freehand. Maybe I should make a quick video explaining how it works in CW.

  • ummm can i scan one of my own drawing into this program for inking and coloring purposes?

  • @O0ohMar Yes you can! Just be sure to scan your drawings at the best resolution possible, usually 300dpi is okay, but if you can manage to scan at 600 dpi that would be great. This is for inking of course. For coloring 300dpi is enough.

  • is it the same as the Manga Studio? What version did you use on that video? Also I tried the Manga Studio and did a not so good job. My lines are kinda wobbly. I used the compensation / auto correct and set it to 5. Any tutorials or tips for newbies? Thanks

  • @beardrooler Nope, ComicWorks is a different kind of program than Manga Studio, it is simpler actually and I like it better. Wobbly lines are usually because you still need to get used to the pen tablet (my lines were also pretty bad at first), so the only advice I got for you is to keep practicing, retrace the lines as many times as possible and never give up ;)

  • Sexy o.o

  • The guy is f*cking hot. :3

  • For anyone still wondering the 2nd song is "Pendulum - The Tempest" :)

  • Some people just should make their own manga

  • @LaraYokoshima but wobby lines aren´t just because of the artist. For me, it was because my older GT wasn´t that good, I allways got told, it´s because of the artist and you need to practice, but thats half the truth. After 5 years I buyed a new one and TADAA, there aren´t wobby lines anymore, the lines look the same as if I draw on paper, and not with GT.

  • Damnnnnnnn I want a boyfriend like him! XD I'm new when it comes to digital art, and I'm trying all programs aviable to see which one I'm more comfortable with. I might give this one a shot, seeing how simple and neat it looks. >v<b
