I'm reading these comments and most of you did not get what lupe was saying. Books are important, math is important, and English is important. But the school system is too old school for today's society as he already said. All these subjects are important to a certain extent. I don't use half or more of the math and history I studied in high school today. Instead of teaching things well never use again why not teach about credit. Teach about mortgages, personal budget, resumes. Life

i mean its that discipline that they dont get at home ,if u take that away then the child is totally gone ,even smart students they really learn a lot outside of school in their spare time ,i mean school is just some sort of a guideline it doesnt define u ,its just i mean u cant stop a genius from being a genius and u cant stop a thug from being a thug,even when u are raised well ,u will come our who u are eventually no hip hop no school or even parents can change that it can affect it only

to begin with i dont think it is right that lupe attacks the teacher in that way , i mean its a debate and no one should be attacked personally, and i do think u know the schoolsystem can be better but if u look at it overall i mean at that age i mean highschool age ,u know u cant ask from those chidren that they going to grab a history book in their spare time ,its difficult to find a system that is good 4 every student cause ,altough u hate school and ure not learning much ,u still have 2 go

He's right because in chicago the cps( chicago public school) many kids didnt eat at home . so they depended on school for food. Thats why they never canceled school unless it was a life and death situation.
