В 1921 году 15-летняя Жозефин уже была известной комической танцовщицей и исполняла сложные акробатические номера.
Юная Жозефин блистала в Берлине, Брюсселе, Вене и Копенгагене. В парижском театре "Фоли Бержер" она произвела фурор, когда выскочила из-за кулис, прикрытая лишь гроздью бананов.
Знаменитые художники и модельеры создавали для Жозефин безумные костюмы из перьев и блесток. Пуаре придумывал для нее расшитые бисером, сверкающие цилиндры. Иногда платья кроились из полотна, расписанного модными тогда кубистами........
Жозефин всегда притягивала к себе неординарных людей. В 1926 году Эрнест Хемингуэй впервые танцевал с Жозефин: "Было жарко, но она куталась в манто. Мы танцевали весь вечер, но она ни разу его не сняла. Только когда клуб закрылся и мы вышли, Жозефин призналась мне, что под мехами у нее не было никакой одежды". Первая жена Жоржа Сименона, Регина, вспоминала: "Мы ходили в ее ночной клуб почти каждый вечер. Разумеется, Сименон был с ней близок. Но в то время я об этом не знала".

Este es un extracto de la cinta francesa de 1927 "La revue des revues". El color de esta cinta es del ahora obsoleto proceso llamado "Pathécolor" y es una película muda. Lástima que el esfuerzo de los músicos se hubiera perdido, pero menos mal que ella vivió lo suficiente para aparecer en el cine sonoro mostrando sus bailes y su voz.

@kkkkkkk7 What hip hop moves of 2011? Nobody likes to dance anymore. You mean the hip hop dances of the past like the harlem shake, jitter bug, butterfly, break dancing...stuff like that. Most of these so-called artists today don't have no talent. Their isn't a woman in show business today that can even compare to the talent, mystic, and excitement of Josephine Baker.

this is exactly how the hip hop dancers dance in 2011. she is doing all the steps that they have clearly copied from. she is a older person and the young folks are doing the same dances now! do this footage over with hip hop music and insert some clips of hip hop dancers and you will see it.
