Exploring the work of Margaret Mead, this film investigates the 12 months Mead spent with the Samoans in the Twenties.
Her resulting book, Coming Of Age In Samoa, had a huge impact on Western culture.
Mead believed cultures like the Samoans could teach people how to live in harmony. Her book depicts a society of free love -- devoid of jealousy and teenage turmoil.
But, decades later, her work was criticised as being tainted by her romantic views and strong belief in liberal values.
Tales From The Jungle examines whether Mead's study was merely misinterpretation and romantic wishful thinking.

the locals were having a little joke with mead.she probably thought the locals were not very sophisticated.you don,t need modern conveience to be smart.we polynesians are born with a lot of insight.the locals knew what she was about but she never had a clue what they were really thinking, she prseumed to know.europeans have usually made this mistake with all peoples.

Margeret Mead being wrong about Samoa isn't even a controversial thing anymore. Somans matter of factly didn't behave the way she claims.

Interesting how you call people retard, stupid and so on. As far as I am concerned my case is closed. You have taken too long to reply to my comments.

LOL so you can't provide facts, just assertions. Go study statistics, retard. I'm discussing averages not "entire population(s)". Just like I can say "men are taller than women on average" but that doesn't mean every man is taller than every woman. I wouldn't expect someone as stupid as you to understand the distinction.

@mikeyanagita1, I do not need to show you any studies to satisfy your lazy fat ass curiosity. Are you implying the entire population of Asians to mention a few countries as diverse as; India, Malaysia,Myanmar,Singapore,Indonesia, Vietnam the list is endless, all have high iq's?

LOL, show me the study that says asians have low IQs. "Europeans" is far too broad a category to be useful.

you are stuck in a false dichotomy. Both impact the development of a person. Nature provides the materials, Nurture provides a semblance of direction. Either alone would be almost useless.

lol wow. All I can say is that your university is either remarkably disinterested in verifying claims, or they're politically motivated.
