What is the easy out? To blame the oil companies. Well, here is the challenge - PROVE the oil companies are colluding to price up gasoline, PROVE they are engaged in corrupt pricing practices. If you cannot do so, then stop speaking about something you know nothing about! How many times has congress and the federal trade commission found oil companies engaged in price fixing or collusion? Z-E-R-O. Not once. So please, to all you pointing the fingers at oil companies - stop being idiots.

To answer those who say? What can we do? it reminds me of Chicken Little. This is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. well maybe...but still...for what we spend in Defense and corporate welfare...we could easily use solar, wind, tide, geo thermal and wave energy to completely change our energy paradigm. It's going up, 'cuz the world's fuel supply is going down. It's already mind-blowing where it ALL comes from! It will run out...give it time. That'd be my guess as to why the price for gas is going up, because of the level...there can't be that much more in the bottom of the Earth with folks driving on it every single day.
