What a douchebag pilot. ATC should have just cut contact with him and let him fly into the side of a mountain. Just before impact, he'll be thinking about what language they speak in the Northern American continent.

@OzNormandy He heard the instruction fine, contact Boston Departure. What isn't clear is whether he was just trying to have fun with the controller, or was just being a dick. Sounds like he was being a dick though.

Half my family is from Mass & have the accent,but in important situations & at work they speak clear American Business English.The pilot wasn't wrong to be rude to the ATC for mumbling at him in such a thick Boston accent.There's no call for political correctness in that type of situation.Only a tiny number of people on Earth can understand full-blown Boston 100%.That probably isn't the only pilot this ATC has confused.I can't believe someone as ignorant sounding as him could get such a position

Gee whiz even I didn't hear that lazy gabble first time. Yes, SAY AGAIN was appropriate, but not the dig at the lazy mumbling. The unbelievable selfish commentators here have not a care that passengers will be victims of stupidity.

Pilot is NOT stupid for asking for ATC to repeat - he WOULD be stupid if he shrugged his shoulders and continued with what he THOUGHT he heard. What was wrong was giving ATC Mumbles a dig.

As for ATC Mumbles - needs to speak more clearly, no doubt about it.

The pilot was condescending and rude...He should remember that the person he is talking down to is the one that will keep him safe. Btw...Why do people have to start getting so hostile towards each other in these comments? Referring to the other person's sex practices has nothing to do with the topic, as well as your limitations in having anything worthwhile to listen to.
