I watched this video to see if there are an positive arguments for CAP. I was genuinely intrigued and open to the idea of having my opinion changed but all I came away with is a feeling that Michel Barnier needs to learn some economic theory.
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing and parties like the EPP do a huge amount of damage. I'd urge their members to get an education. The unregulated and free market internet has made this very cheap.

Protectionism has also been accused of being one of the major causes of war

True, the EU is just protecting its own market. That's good for Europeans farmers, but it's opposing the liberal free trade market Europe says it wants to have.
