This Wifi adapter didnt have good range, so i added up an antenna which helped alot.

I didnt show how did i find the spot for the antenna in this video but i will tell you how to find it.
You NEED TO LOCATE the point for the antenna, you can do that by stripping your dongle down and look for an obvious antenna points and while its connected touch a metal piece (i used a screw driver) to one of those points and hold firm there and check if your signals improves, once you find that specific spot, solder a piece of wire to it and you got ur self an antenna.

  • I also want to do this for my TP-Link Wifi Adapter, I am worrying about it's life. Before Wifi Adapter I had CDMA RUIM card Adapter and I had also did the same way as you. But suddenly after one month it was no more usable because it stopped showing signals. Then I switched to WiFi. Here is low signal and I also wanna do it but I am afraid. What was your experience with your Belkin Adapter? Is it still working?

  • @indiwar12345 yes mate its still working splendidly, its been nearly 2 years now.

  • Did your "random wire antenna" work?

  • @faffaflunkie I didnt mentioned in this video that You NEED TO LOCATE the point for the antenna, you can do that by stripping your dongle down and look for an obvious antenna points and while its connected touch a metal piece (i used a screw driver) to it and hold firmly there and check if your signals improves than solder a wire to it and you got ur self an antenna.

  • @snake1250 Did you try a 1/4 or 5/8 wavelength size length of wire?

  • @faffaflunkie its a standard utility wire, not sure what "wavelength" it has. but it does the job

  • @snake1250 I bought a antenna. Its from: C.Crane Company. called: Super WiFi Antenna 11. It plugs into a USB port on desktop or laptop. My desktop is XP & I get 54mpg with it and laptop is windows 7. It has wifi built-in but when I plugged in the antenna I get at least 6 I can connect to. You just stick the antenna which has suction cups on one side of it stick it to a window. My desk top I just hang the antenna on a lamp shade and get good reception. I think I paid $80. u can check.
