This is a trailer for the upcoming documentary film titled The Last Descent. The film is about the adventure of a group of whitewater kayakers traveling the world to descent rivers that are being dammed. Go to www.thelastdescent.com for more info
Arunachal Pradesh, the eastern most state in the north east of India has a proposed site of more than 200 dams...out of which 103 MOUs with big hydropower companies and corporations have been already signed. The stakes are growing at an alarming rate...
Stoked to hear you enjoyed it! we had a great time at Wild and Scenic, super cool festival. We actually just sent the final version out to be replicated, so it should be available in about three weeks. Netflix, from everything we have found out is pretty tricky to get involved with, but who knows. For exact information the distributor is Heliconia, they can give the details on when it will be fully finished. Charlie C.
great film. had the pleasure of seeing it as part of the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Fest. There's so many questions regarding hydropower and displacement of people. and the motivations of the dam financiers.
two bones... why isn't this available through Netflix? and will a full-length feature be released? I hated to see it end...
