GODDAM was his favorite curse word! I wonder how he cursed in real life?
-
Damn that guy has a bad temper.
-
Wow! Lou Costello really had quite the potty mouth. :D
-
Marx Brothers fans will recognize the woman in the first clip as Margaret Dumont, who was Groucho's foil in all their films
-
The older man in the taxi with Costello was George Cleveland, a veteran actor who played "Gramps" on TV's Lassie (Jeff's Collie). Lou's girl friend in the pinafore dress was Elena Verdugo and his mother was Mary Gordon, who played "Mrs. Hudson" in the Sherlock Holmes films.
-
These clips are from "The Little Giant" (1946). Bud and Lou are not working as a team here but have separate roles. The clapper board with the numbers seen at the beginning of every clip indicated the particular tape. If an actor "went up" on his lines, forgot his lines momentarily, or something else occurred, the scene was deleted by the film editor. Some of these clips were saved and put onto a reel where they would be shown at studio parties.

@alexis13thirteen Unlike the talkies era, in the silent movie era it wasn't uncommon for actors to swear. Of course with no audio recorded it wouldn't make a difference.
-
It's so odd to see a person in a black and white movie swear.
-
Another actor does this scene with Lou's "Benny Miller"..instead of
Sid Fields.

its good to see costello having fun and making x for cutting-thanks for posting

Look in "Part 1" of the video. I was told that the man riding the bicycle at 1:39 into that video is Cary Grant. It's hard to see the face, but it does sound like Cary Grant to me, expecially when he says "Oh, God!" when he fumbles with the two bikes.
