  • Such a list without Planescape Torment is wrong.

You listet only some wierd japanese bullshit... wtf

  • @madamegehirngulasch Planescape: Torment was not a breakout hit, but it was a success. It sold more than 500,000 copies in America alone. These games did not sell anywhere near to that level.

  • Buddharta is missing every point missable, really. First of all, thinking a reviewer can be unbiased is a terrible illusion as there is no such thing as a universally good game or a universally applied taste in games. Secondly is assuming all these games are "J"RPGs and that Japanese games are all in the same school.

The comparison to michel bay films makes no sense, it's more like making a list of top 5 films and only put American films in there, something that a lot of people do.

  • @Stektanudlar thanks stek...completely agree!

  • I tried to not add my personal bias to this list, although there really isn't anyway around that when making one of these. However, looking at the stories behind the fate of each of these games, you'll find out they were deserving of this list. Few done writing... hopefully, that was a constructive reply :)

  • @uadfa I've never seen the game physically (in a box) in my entire life :P, and I've played it quite a lot.

EVERYONE here knows Baldur's Gate, and most people have AT LEAST played it once. Planescape: Torment is almost totally unknown here.

  • Where is Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, it is like Spyro/Zelda just better.

  • @RFTL I doubt that. All I've seen are fan translations.

  • It was officially translated into French and German.

That it wasent translatet to the bigger smaller marked's shows that it didn't sell enouith to warrant a translaiton (fan translatiosn don't count).

  • @GamingRetrospective

It was less than 500.000 (if you don't count late sales like on GoG).

It's not America only. It's word wide.

And id only mad marginally more than the production costs.

... and now i have to power up Killer7

  • Okami... It was better than ANY zelda game!

  • *sigh* more stupid anime asque shit :P

  • @uadfa You tell me, bro. You tell me. I know it's a HUGE pity, but that's how things are here. Too many ass JRPG's which copy each other again and again. The true classics are left aside...

  • @Owneador1337 Now that's just criminal, considering how it's an important showcase on how games can truly be art.

  • @Owneador1337 I know, but never knew they were hard to find in other countries. I guess it's safe to say that it sold well in the U.S., but not very well in other countries.
