KATIE COURIC: Do you consider youself a feminist?

SARAH PALIN: . . . a feminist who believes in equal rights and I believe that women, certainly today, have every opportunity that a man has to succeed, to try to do it all anyway . . .

COURIC: When it comes to establishing your world view . . . what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this?

PALIN: Ive read most of them again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media—

COURIC: But what ones specifically? Im curious.

PALIN: Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me all these years.

COURIC: Any name?

PALIN: I have a vast variety of sources where we get our news. Alaska isnt a foreign country . . . believe me, Alaska is like a microcosm of America.

COURIC: If a fifteen year old is raped by her father, you believe it should be illegal for her to get an abortion. Why?

PALIN: I am pro-life and I am unapologetic . . . I would counsel to choose life. I would like to see a culture of life in this country . . .

COURIC: But, ideally, you think it should be illegal for a girl who is raped or a victim of incest to get an abortion.

PALIN: Im saying that personally, I would counsel that person to choose life despite horrific, horrific circumstances . . . if youre asking . . . should anybody end up in jail for having had an abortion. Absolutely not . . .

PALIN: Im all for contraception and Im all for any preventative measures . . .

COURIC: Do you believe evolution should be taught as an accepted scientific principle or one of several theories.

PALIN: I think it should be taught as an accepted principle . . . I wont ever deny that I see the hand of god in this beautiful creation that is earth . . .

PALIN: . . . as for homosexuality, I am not going to judge Americans and the decisions that they make in their adult personal relationships . . .
