FF7 NENENI Challenge: Guard Scorpion

NENENI stands for

No Exp (and using the lowest level party possible)
No Escape
No Items.

No Exp is acquired through setting all monster exp values to 0, this is the only way in which the game mechanics have been altered.

It always begins with Guard Scorpion. Nothing out of the ordinary here despite being one level lower than normally possible, the no items restriction makes me resist the temptation to obey Cloud commanding to attack while the tail's up, though.

The pause between "Attack while its tail's up!" and "It's gonna counterattack with its laser" leads quick-thinking folk to follow Cloud's supposed command to "Attack while its tail's up!"

I never did fall for it (despite only being 7 when first playing it), because of the "Be careful" bit. Just made me think not to actually attack while its tail was up, and my suspicion was confirmed seconds later, when Cloud finished his sentence.

I believe it is obvious that he means NOT to attack.
