All praise given to Linda's voice and singing is so well deserved, but we should take a moment to pay tribute to what a wonderful beautifully constructed song J.D. Souther wrote here...what a poetic construction, heartbreaking, utterly sincere, structured so beautifully. I always wondered if J.D. Souther ever intended for anyone other than Linda Rondstadt to sing the song, it seems like a match created in heaven.
