This is a 1940's Doran Cunningham air horn. Usually found on WWII US Navy destroyer ships, and also found on some older ferries. There are only 2 of these that are being used that I know of. Mine and Adam's (Airraidsiren on YouTube). Very rare that only six have been seen in pictures and each one had a different configuration. The 6B is close to 200lbs. of brass, has a 12" diaphragm,my 6B measures 36 1/4" long, and has an 18" bell/horn opening.
There are markings at the footing of the air inlet "DD416". This is not the biggest horn made; but is considered the best because of it's sound!

  • You know those videos that are circulating the internet now with "trumpets from heaven" and "alien sounds" and all that shit where people are hearing sounds and looking up into the sky? This is the source of the noise folks! haha

  • @elitedefense72 , Actually I have seen some of those videos...I have to confess , it was probably me...Or my other horn collector buddies

  • hey bigmike, i love big horns like this and i was wondering if you know any place other than Kahlenberg ship horns i could get a Kahlenberg KM-135. I love the sound of this horn and i would love to start collecting horns as a hobby. Any tips on where to get one (price doesnt matter) and what horns to look into buying to start a collection.

Please and thankyou for any assistance.

  • @Jekwrestler , No seller right now for a KM135...But I know someone selling a deeper sounding KM-85 and KM-110. If you are interested send me a private message and I'll check for you.

  • @Sunburn2008 , Are you positive its a 1940's Doran-Cunningham 6B? There are only a few of these documented, I have even talked to the current owner of Cunningham horns & he even told me that they are very rare. There were several smaller models, but the 6B is hart to find. Where did you see it for sale at Humburg? I work for for Mercedes-Benz and have friends in Germany, I could have one of them check it out. If it is a 6B & half the price as you state, I will buy it and give you a finders fee.

  • @BIGMIKESOCAL I've seen one for sale in Hamburg, Germany for half this price.

  • sounds like the tripods from Steven Spielberg's War of the worlds.

  • WHATS THE FUCK ! THATS THE LOUDEST HORN I EVER HEARD
