Big Friend, Little Friend, a story for children from the Mountains of Peru

This is a 13-minute Spanish/English movie designed for language students. The story, inspired by a popular children's book, features the children of Aucara and many of the landmarks in this picturesque Andean village. The movie was directed by Kate Grim-Feinberg. At the time she had been living in the village for about a year as part of her PhD anthropological research on childhood. At the request of the children's parents, Kate taught English classes throughout the year and her students chose this story to make into a bilingual movie so that they could continue to practice English when the classes ended. The movie and stills were taken and edited by me, Tom Riddle, using the Canon 5D Mark II. Esta es una película de 13 minutos en español e inglés, dirigida a estudiantes de idiomas. El cuento fue inspirado por un libro popular para niños. Los actores son niños del pueblo andino de Aucará y el escenario incluye algunos de los lugares más pintorescos del pueblo. La película fue dirigida por Kate Grim-Feinberg. En el momento de la filmación ella llevaba casi un año viviendo en el pueblo como parte de su investigación doctoral en la antropología sobre la niñez en los andes. A la petición de las mamás y papás de los niños, Kate enseñó clases de inglés durante el año y sus alumnos eligieron este cuento para hacer una película bilingue para poder continuar practicando su inglés cuando terminaban las clases. La película y las fotos fueron tomadas y editadas por mí, Tom Riddle, utilizando la cámara Canon 5D Mark II.
