Yeah. I think they could have done a bit more research before shooting this. ;)
Anyway, the ä in Spärhusen is probably just to more conveniently show that it's a "Swedish" parody.

I was confused about that too,Zancoth.Since,the "A" has UMLUAT(letters of two dots),it should be pronounced as the "A" in BAND.You are correct.
