I am a wife and a mother of five children...one boy followed by four girls. I have looked forward to being a mother my whole life, and here I am, in the thick of things. I strive to be really deliberate about how I mother and I am a strong advocate of living the joy in the journey of motherhood. I like to write about my thoughts and ideas on my blog (71toes.blogspot.com). I also love photography and although I gave up doing professional photography a couple years ago when I realized it was sucking up too much time from my family, I still adore when my kids will be my models.
What is hope and what do you hope for?
I have learned a lot about hope over the past few years since our daughter was diagnosed with a rare genetic syndrome. My heart had always reached out to others dealing with heartbreak and health issues with their children, but I never thought it would be ME dealing with those issues. When our daughter was diagnosed a whole new feeling of emptiness surrounded me. But as I look back I realize the strength and bonding that has resulted in our family because we have such hope for the future. I have realized that God has carried me through the toughest moments and that trials can make us stronger.
Why I am a Mormon:
I grew up in a family strong in the Mormon faith. I am so grateful to have parents who raised me to love my Savior(Jesus Christ) and try to do as He would do. I am so thankful for the principles of what I believe. My faith has helped me through making tough decisions and helps me feel connected with God because I know He is there and He cares about me as an individual.
How I live my faith:
We attend church (worship service) each Sunday as a family. We read scriptures together each morning before school. We have family prayer. All these things simply help us live our faith the way we believe God wants us to...they remind us to reach out to others and love as Christ loves. They help us to veer away from being judgmental and just to love those around us for who they are.

I don't get how mormans think that it's the same thing as being christian...it's definately not. I think it's AWESOME that you know Jesus though :) I actually don't think that mormans are much different from christians, except that, in my opinion, it is a sort of a twisted version of christianity. All you need to get to heaven is Jesus in your heart! :D

@singingforsunshine we simply believe in the Jesus Christ of the New Testament. Many Christian faiths profess believe in the Holy Trinity, a concept that came about much later in 325AD in the Council of Nicea, a council of men who came together to vote upon the definition of what God was. We believe God the Father, God the Son(Jesus Christ) and the Holy Ghost are literally all one in every single way, in purpose, in intent, in meaning and direction and purpose but separate, unique and distinct.

@pickiepickle11 me too! It is because of this that my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ means everything to me and that life without Him would literally have no meaning. Thank you for sharing your testimony of Christ, may Heavenly Father bless you always.
