Dimitris Katsafouros - http://www.marvelousdecay.com - used camera mapping in CINEMA 4D to help create something out of nothing:

"The purpose of this video is to create an emotional response out of the most basic and bare elements. The original picture [of London's Tower Bridge] was treated originally in Photoshop and then sent to CINEMA 4D to create the actual animation."

Dimitris used After Effects to add depth of field, snow, text treatment, some camera movements, and finally color grading. GarageBand was used to sync the video to a series of audio loops.

  • How did you matched the snow to the camera movement? In what program did you make the snow? :)

  • @sleek1978 hey guys. Yeah the snow is made with the Trapcode Particular plugin in After effects. You can basically do everything particle related with that tool. To make the snow match the camera moves of the animation I exported the C4d camera to after effects and just linked those camera movements to the particles layer. Cinema4d and AfterEffects work extremely well together and there's an insane amount of stuff you can customize even after the final render if you do it properly.

  • yes i love

  • yes

  • @eQuality44 i think the snow is made in AE .. using trapcode Particular plugin

  • very nice work but perhaps lose the zooming - a film cameraman wouldn't work like that and I think you lose realism that way.

  • awesome work. I'm new to this and I was wondering if you used the clone tool to fill in the background in photoshop. Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • wow, nuff said
