If your really looking to do this job...Just pick a job up with the USFS on a handcrew or hotshot crew. I did prolly around 5-6 controlled burns. It should just say Wildland Firefighter... lol...A burn boss is just a position you hold on a fire.

@sheetbug Actually fires in california burn out of control because of lighting strikes and arsonists most of the time. Controlled burns not only help the environment, but help control fuels so they dont burn too crazy when a fire gets going. A controlled burn is monitored carefully and only when conditions are right. Weather, wind, relative humidity. All contribute to fire behavior and condition.

@wrinkes actually a controlled burn helps with the cultivation and reproduction of land. Its a cycle that is very productive.

Change the culture, not all fire is bad!!
Fire was here way before we ever where!

Alright, I just set the whole block on fire. When do I get paid?
Actually, controlled burning is not a problem, if this is what they are doing. Fires are a natural way for clearing forests so new plants can begin growth, in fact it is an important part of plant life. They do these controlled burns so wildfires don't get too wild and spread to homes.
