Stage 2 was hard to make music for. I want it to be dark and mysterious, but if I overdo it, then it's not good shooting music at all. I reached the conclusion that players don't care too much about mood after the first minute of the stage, so I transitioned to something more upbeat. This was a very hard song to get right, and I'm still not completely satisfied... but everyone else seems to love it, so I guess I did something right.

  • Somehow this sounds like more than one song played at the same time.

  • @NeotyKairyu2 That's actually kind of what I was going for. During the intro, there's two different melodies alternating. During the rest of the song, there's heavy drums with a light melody, two things that usually don't mix. I really like mixing elements of two different musical styles (see: Renegade Machine), and it makes each song more unique and fun to make.

  • Listening to this at first, there was a certain discord about it (especially at the beginning) that I didn't much care for. Then I remembered the midboss of Stage 2 ("Cyber of Disturbance") and it all made its own kind of sense.

Now it doesn't bother me that much. Funny how that works.

  • I think you definitly did something right. It has that more serious tone which suits this point in the game, while also sounding dark and adding a touch of excitement. Overall great job :)
