I have no problem with black female pilots but was rather surprised to see the young copilot wears glasses. When I came back from Vietnam, and was looking for a flying job I remember that with the exception of united, everyone wanted 20/20 uncorrected. You could wear glasses later on in your career if your eyes started to fade a bit, but they did not want you if you wore glasses. Best wishes to these women and may they have a safe, fulfilling career.

I've flown with all white crew members half my life and never thought much of it at the time. So now you've seen or hear of an all flying crew of color and u say it's racism. No diversity? We are all human beings. If you're taught how to do the job properly, then skin color or gender shouldn't have anything to do with your job performance. People please get over your race issues. There is a standard of great performance taught to all. Leave the persons race out of it. It's 2013!!

Yes, they have that knowledge, but it is only a small part of their actual duties. Aside from the safety brief at the beginning of the flight, they have very little to do with the operation of the aircraft.
And they can be summoned with a call button...

No. Flight attendants need 2 know about all the safety equipment and what 2 do in an emergency. Why do U think they go through all that intensive training?!

they are two very different occupations, that's for sure. A flight attendant is basically a waitress at 35,000 feet. The pilot's job is challenging in a different ways: more technical and more responsibility.
Obviously, the pay is much higher. How old are you?

I actually don't want 2 b a pilot, though, I want 2 b a flight attendant. Flight attendants actually get 2 work more with the passengers whereas the only ppl pilots get 2 talk 2 are the 1st officer and sometimes the flight attendants (but that's usually if there's an emergency like a sick passenger or a passenger who is not following the rules).

well, I said the "majority" of people date and marry within their own race. But you need to go for a job on the flight deck. You can do it!!!

I wanted 2 b a pilot when I was younger. Now I actually think I want 2 b a flight attendant, though, cuz they get 2 b with pp more. As for the race thing, I'm not so sure everybody dates and marries within their own race. I'm white, and I'm dating an african-american guy. It doesn't matter what u look like, it only matters who u r on the inside! The guy I'm with is a very caring, sensitive, fun guy. He's the kind of guy u want 2 b around!

everybody gravitates to people who "look like them"' that's why the majority of people date and marry within their own races.
and nobody seems to be commenting on the gender aspect of it: female crew members. if it's okay for there to be women pilots associations, then it's ok for there to be black women pilots associations.
