i,m just happy to find a video easy to understand on this subject. why don,t some of you that are so quick to be critical make a better video showing your superior skills and knowledge on the subject. i would love a demo on how to turn a vintage chandolier into a table lamp.

Oh really? Molded plugs with furniture against them break internally where you cant see it. There are replacement plugs but a person would have to know how to troubleshoot to figure that out. For the average person this is probably the best way with a new socket and cord, but the cord should be 6-8 ft besides what's in the lamp body. Also the new stripped leads should be tinned so they dont fray on the screws leaving little conductors inside flying around.

this is exactly how i rewired my computer speakers. I accidentally cut the power cable. Except i didn't have any eletrical tape so i used elmer's glue instead. It works fine!
