Ed Witten on Black Holes and String Theory. Talk at Institute Of Physics (London,UK July 2010)

1st July 2010. Ed Witten, arguably the best phycisist in the world , travels from Institute of Advanced Studies - Princeton,US to London,UK in order to give a talk about Black holes and String Theory.

This Newton lecture is given annually at Institute Of Physics, London. This year, prof. Witten was awarded the Newton Medal for his contribution to physics.

Amateur video by Nodas. I apologise in advance for the quality of video, since it was taken from my cellphone.

Nonetheless, I think that was a good chance to somehow remember a glimpse of what Prof. Witten's talked about this year.

@thraxman Thanks. Unfortunately cameras were not allowed in the conference room, so cellphone recording was the only solution.

He literally fills the slides with the words that he speaks. The most horrible way to give a presentation.

I have never seen anyone do this except first year undergrads or high school kids.

@boogiebuddy01 I guess because the Institute of Physics was the sole copyright holder for this talk. And sometimes new discoveries are being presented, and top scientists don't want their research to be leaked immediately with no profits
