  • I don't get it, are you all the same person, or is there a cult collective of people posting these HMHB collages?

Whichever, thank you, I am profoundly grateful. And yes, a week off work fantastically spent.

  • All the ones under my name were done by me. I have no idea who all the others are. :o)

  • 5k would refer to the sound rig some bands have to show 1) they got cash 2) their pros. 5k rigs are the ultimate in third rate indie indulgence who have just signed a whopping 3 record deal with reception records. Put next to "you can't use our backline".

  • sound man sound man,we got our own sound man, fucking classic

  • Nigel Blackwell is the Alan Bennet of Indie.

  • Pure joy.

  • @LunarEcli no need to feel stupid. There's plenty of Half Man Half Biscuit lyrics I've either misheared or completely misunderstood! It's all part of the fun.

  • by the way, i love the bass in this track

  • @daryl1q1 oh now i feel stupid. i never even thought about it in that way. :p

  • @LunarEcli "Five K" is £5000. Nigel is expressing dismay at how much a promoter/venue is willing to pay a rubbish band. Hope this explanation helps.

  • Are FiveK a band?

I know Chas 'n' Dave and Crispy Ambulance

  • A bit of advice - take more time off work! Superb video for a... well, come to think of it, have HMHB ever written a song that wasn't superb?

Still, this did bring back horrific memories of August 1979 when, as a long-haired teenager I went to the Knebworth Festival to see Led Zeppelin, only to discover that the first support act was Chas & Dave! I still have the nightmares.
