  • @xxbellydance1810 I disagree with you, this performance is very very consistent with the style of music she is dancing, namely shaabi/baladi. Many dancers try to dance this too elaborated, what diminishes the baladi taste of the music. Gestures and singing along are a part of enjoing the music and reflecting the real baladi feel.. She did a great job!

  • @holantina well, it is really just my preference for what I like to see. There are all types of dance here in America that I do not care to watch either. And I know very little about this type of dancing - such as what is acceptable, what is not - all I know is what I find pleasing to look at. I am sure what you say is true, but I am not looking at it from a cultural viewpoint. I will look into it, though, now you have me curious.

  • @Bhav341 @Bhav341 I'm so sorry you think like this. Of course, you have the right to speak your mind and share your opinion here. I can asure you that gestures and singing along are a part of enjoing the music and reflecting the real Egyptian shaabi and baladi feel. In fact sometimes (eg. while dancing iskanderani sometimes wrongly known as melaya leff) they even have chewing gum in their mouth! Have you been to Egypt? Maybe if you go and see them there you will understand better :-)

  • @holantina I kind of agree with xxbellydance. I watch because I want to see dancing. The mouthing of the words and acting out gestures are somewhat annoying, and distracting. If I want to see that sort of thing, I'll turn on MTV.

  • @holantina I love this kind of dance, i agree w/ ur comment!:) I love shaabi style dancing!!

  • Love your interpretation of this. Many performers try to put too much into the music, the result is chaotic and hectic. And worse, the authentic baladi and shaabi taste gets lost. I love your dancing here.... many respect for you for being authentic and not trying to squeeze three or four isolations where just one can go, as so many dancers, so eager to "show what they can", do. In short: great performance, i enjoyed it a LOT!

  • Congratulations it's very great!!! i love it it's a funny interpratation!!!

  • Great interpretation! Best I've seen posted so far!

  • Well done!!
