I recently had a similar problem with my line of credit through B of A; the bank raised my rate for no reason other than they wanted more money. I wrote my senators and congressman about the issue and lodged a complaint with the bank itself, and still nothing happened. Then, I closed my B of A checking and saving accounts and told them to go to hell. Three weeks later I got a note saying that they decided to abort the rate change, and apologized for the inconvenience!
We do have some power!

BoA charges me 2000% interest, man am I a sucker. I have a 59 cent charge at a special promotion rate on my card in addition to the normal charges. For some reason BoA calculates interest for it seperate than the others. Every month there is a $1.00 finance charge on that 59 cent balance which is their "official" minimum charge.. They won't leave me pay off that 59 cents until the entire card is paid off. So $12 a year on 59 cents is over 2000%.

I had an account with MBNA that I paid on time like clockwork. The terms I AGREED TO were 13.9%, a little steep I thought, but I did agree to it. Then they got bought by Bank of A-holes. FOR NO REASON AT ALL, MY INTEREST RATE WAS JACKED UP TO 29%.

Oh, and before you lecture me about living within my means, I accumulated that debt because my truck blew two transmissions in a four month period and I had no other way to pay for it.

It's disgusting and treasonous for these stinking banks to gouge us. They have gouged me too. I'm disgusted and they should be incarcerated for life!

the truth is some people have ligitimate concerns with BofA and some people have made their own financial mess. it is not one or the other. my personal issue with BofA is that the fees are draconian. charging a 35. fee for a 1.00 overdraft doesn't add up for me.

Hello..Are you Ann Minch?..I saw through google..Im shutting down the entire tax system..There is no authority over humanity..it is all recognized as predatory stalkative behavior that is related to the credit system!! Our lives for the family is and should not be 2 parents working!!..shorter work weeks longer vacations..is the reality of life that has been taken away..I SAY PAY NO TAXES !!! 2010!!!
