A video that considers the point of zoos. Do we gain anything from having zoos in our society? What do we learn or comprehend by seeing the animals in person (but at a distance) rather than in a book or on TV. The benefits must be pretty good if we continue to dislocate, relocate and subjugate animals from all over the world for these 'sanctuaries.' Most institutions like these will justify themselves in pursuit of science, and provide their visitors and guests with educational materials. Since most people do not focus on learning when visiting animals in this way, what is the truer benefit of zoos to society as well as justification for the 'use' of animals.

This should help me in my essay!

  • I hadn't thought before about all the reasons people visit zoos; I enjoyed the analysis. And the video is well produced. I like the Twilight Zone excerpt at the end that shows how the incarcerated animals might feel.

  • Well written, well spoken, artfully displayed and the musical accompaniment was pleasing. Furthermore, you made some points that I have never before considered. Quite a nice work!
