@dukes0916 Re: The "Love Boat" Spin-off, I believe that was "Aloha Paradise"
-
Never realized what an age of Spin-Off this time was!
Out Of the Blue (I thouhgt I was the only one on EARTH who remembered that show!) was a spin-off of Mork & Mindy!
Mork (and Lavern & Shirley) got started by Happy Days!
Benson was a spin-off of Soap!
The Ropers was from 3's Co.
Even Love boat had a follow-up for about 3 or 4 episodes. Forgot the name... But it was a carbon-copy senario, just set on a resort Island!

I think this is a promo for not watching tv...

@dennello Yes, I too remember these days. It's a double edged sword. You have sooooo many chances to see more programming and many many more choices now. Plus you can be in control in what you watch now with DVR and watching your shows on your laptop or smartphone, but then something ends up getting lost as things changes. Think of how those our age felt when TV took over and going to the movie theater to see a serial of your favorites was the thing to do and so on.

as a kid of the late 60's early 70's. I remember these Fall previews to be an event. They would advertise these for a couple weeks and then you would make sure your in front of the TV to watch your favorites as well as the New ones. Then you would go to school and actually debate what was the best new one and discuss your old favorites. Such an innocent time. In my mid 40's now, and recall these wonderful times with pleasure. Thank You for posting this video.

Back when TV was TV. No MTV, No NIck at Nite, No satellite TV or DVD's. You had one chance a year to watch the Wizard of Oz, The Great Pumpkin, Rudolph and all the other great programming they had back in the day. If you missed it....Too Bad, you had to wait a year to watch it again. Kids now a days play the same DVD 10 times a day. All said and done... Satellite TV wrecked todays prime time shows.

that was the year america discovered the tv remote control

any shot of the world trade center still standing, is my defintion of a better time!

This was the peak period for ABC so far throughout their 60 year history.
ABC seemed like they had an event on every night during this era.
ABC the Home of the Tits and Ass Television!
Amazing. Where was this found? This is when televisioin was good. No stupid reality shows in the 70s. Long live the greatest decade, the 1970s.
