I thought the SRX team consisted of skilled Real Robot pilots, how come they died?

Just a question...How did some units die although there was "mercy" casted?

The spell "Mercy" only works if your skill is higher then the opponent you're trying to kill. You'll notice everyone who actually died were extremely high skill Real Robot pilots.

Of course, I could only care less about who got killed, since this is Ideon we're talking about.

Actually, from what I got in the Anime Series.

Ideon ITSELF is not a God per se.

It's a Tool used to channel Godlike Powers into a Weapon.

So Ide Energy itself, which fuels the Ideon Gun, is the real "God", while Ideon is the vessel which uses it as a Weapon.
