Projects focus on products, or outputs, that will deliver a capability for achieving benefits. Programme management is focused on managing those benefits to ensure maximum gain is achieved for the organization.

Programme management provides a framework to co-ordinate, direct and oversee the implementation of a set of related projects and activities, in order to deliver outcomes and benefits related to the organizations strategic objectives. Project Management on the other hand is concerned with managing a project to deliver a successful output.
