I guess the effects are very important for some. For me it matters not in fact I find it can often detract.

Yeah, it's great way to kill time, trying to match up all the timelines and events from all the shows and films into some kind of sensible order, but it ain't easy, huh? I just wish JJ Abrams had done it instead of setting the latest ST movie in an "alternate timeline" just to avoid the continuity questions. I thought that was a total ripoff...

@jerico641 I know, right?!?

Yeah, the Mirror Tholians were a lot more efficient and quicker, weren't they? Maybe it had something to do with the fact that one of the Tholian ships in OUR Universe was damaged by phaser fire, so the web building had to proceed more slowly? And they also had just the two ships to do it. I love trying to backtrack on this stuff!

@jerico641 I noticed the web formation is different, too. The Mirror Tholians stood in place and shot out the web; whereas "our" Tholians trail it by flying in a pattern.

Man, the Tholians in the Parallel Universe were a lot faster with their webs than these guys! Check out ST: Enterprise episode "Through a Mirror Darkly" parts 1 and 2 to see what happened to the Defiant when it vanished.

this is one of the episodes that made no sense what so ever

He looks as he did before. I was underwhelmed, but these are updates to really old eps... I was happy with just the remastered space scenes.
-
Have they updated the actual appearance of the Tholian 'person' to how they look in In Enterprise 'In a Mirror, Darkly' or does Loskene still look as he did before?
-
It must have been the only thing that was "much improved" on Enterprise.
Although I recommend the box set if you're an insomniac.
Did the tholian look the same or was it updated as well?
