Dave Gibbons has selected Martha's face as example to show how to finish his artwork. He uses the brush tool to put highlights in shadow areas, in this way he can put interest on certain areas. By changing to the Japanese G-Pen, he has a more flexible tool available. In this way he works through the whole character.
i recently bought a Cintiq 21 UX and got Manga studio on the strength of Gibbon's tuts here. SO GOOD!

@T2469 It is probably off a little bit on purpose, so he can see all of his lines as he is drawing without blocking them with the pen. He is an extremely respected and experienced comic artist after all, he knows what he is doing.

@InnovationalFilms demonjack123DOTdeviantartDOTcom/#/d3ecc8b that's the first comic page I just finished last night. I am using a genius mousepen 8x6 tablet :X

@demonjack123 I'm sure they work much better than the average tablet--but my regular one suits me well. Best of luck with your manga! :)

@InnovationalFilms Indeed I am, lol :P and those tablets really do work, I am trying to do a manga type comic with a regular tablet and it is annoying.
